Description of the activities:

Be a Disaster Master” is about making the right decisions and earn points to unlock new levels facing new disasters as a true knowledgeable hero! However, wrong choices could end the game and make you start all over again! Ss need to survive all seven levels plus a turn in the ‘Hot Seat” and become a “Disaster Master”.

If you need to teach or remind Ss of basic facts before getting into the game, OCD gives the information you need in pages relating to each one of the disasters breaking down knowledge in four parts such as: “About- Am I at risk?- What can I do? – Learn more – Words to know”.

For such an example visit :  https://www.ready.gov/kids/disaster-facts/wildfires

Ss get chapters of their own graphic novels after each level of the game ends ,in print or they can just save the novel digitally.

Be a hero & Build a kit” is about gathering supplies needed to prepare for an emergency. Ss go through each level and pick the correct items for them and their family. They do not need to fill every bag. When they are done, they can print out an emergency kit checklist!
